[:ja]芝神明祭は東京都港区で開催されるお祭りです。別名だらだら祭という呼び名もありまして、開催期間が約11日間に及ぶことから気の短い江戸っ子に名付けられたとのこと。だらだらとは何とも不名誉な名称ですが、特に祭の内容がだらだらしていたという意味ではありません。また当時はお伊勢参りが流行していたのですが、お金のない農民などは伊勢まで足を運ぶことが出来ません。そこで農民らは関東のお伊勢さまとして親しまれていた芝大神宮へお参りをしていたそうです。こうした者らが祭りに参加出来るよう、だらだら開催期間を伸ばしていたんです。

そんな芝神明祭はだらだら祭の他に生姜祭という名称もあるんです。その昔、芝大神宮周辺では生姜が栽培されており、境内や道端で販売・奉納されていました。生姜は薬として効果があることから多くの人々が買い求め、屋台が多く立ち並んだと言われています。現在は屋台がめっきり減りましたが、縁起物として授与されますのでぜひお祭りで頂いてみてはいかがでしょうか？それから生姜ともう一つ、千木筥(ちぎばこ)も授与されます。千木筥とは女性の衣類が増えるという縁起物です。可愛らしい縁起物なので女性に人気だそうです。

さて芝神明祭が開催される芝大神宮では氏子地域から神輿が多数参加する連合渡御も行われます。｢よい！よい！よい！｣などと掛け声が飛び交い、担ぎ手の気迫のこもった表情が見られます。
