川口たたら祭(たたらまつり)

[:ja]たたら祭は埼玉県川口市で開催されるお祭りです。川口市は江戸時代から鋳物(いもの)産業が盛んで、たたら祭の”たたら”とは製鉄のために風を送るふいごの意味を持ちます。ジブリ映画もののけ姫の作中でたたらを知った方も少なくないのではないでしょうか？1978年に開催がスタートしたたたら祭りは夏の風物詩として川口市民に親しまれていて、川口オートレース場を中心に展示コーナー・バザー・大人みこし巡行・サンバパレードなどが繰り広げられます。その一角には献血コーナーも設けられるなど、社会貢献も行える素晴らしいお祭りです。

大人みこし巡行では9基の神輿が川口市内を練り歩き、担ぎ手はなんと約1,400人にも達するのだそうです。たたら祭の大人みこし巡行は性別を問うことがありません。ですから男性と女性が一緒に担いでいる神輿が見られるんですね。さらに大人だけではなく、幼稚園保育園に通う子供たちが力を合わせる子供みこし巡行も行われます。大人から子供まで幅広い年齢層で盛り上がるたたら祭り、ファミリーで参加するのもおすすめです。

たたら祭では花火大会も合わせて開催されます。花火の打ち上げ地点と観客席が近い特長がありまして、花火がダイナミックに目の前まで迫るような感覚で観賞できます。ぜひ川口オートレース場で夜空に打ち上げられる約3,000発の花火を楽しんでくださいね。
