武蔵一宮　氷川神社のお祭です。

氷川神社（ひかわじんじゃ）は、埼玉県さいたま市大宮区高鼻町にある神社。式内社（名神大社）、武蔵国一宮または三宮、勅祭社。旧社格は官幣大社で、現在は神社本庁の別表神社。宮中の四方拝で遥拝される一社です。

東京都・埼玉県近辺に約200社ある氷川神社の総本社で、他の氷川神社と区別する際は「大宮氷川神社」とも呼ばれるそうです。

大宮中山道祭は毎年、8月1日2日と決まって開催されております。

8月1日には大宮駅西口周辺でサンバカーニバルが華やかに行われており

8月2日（火）をメインとして大宮駅東口で行われる「中山道まつり」は、毎年それぞれ２０万人以上の観客を動員する、さいたま市を代表するお祭りです。

メインとなる2日は5基の山車による揃い巡行、15基の御輿による揃い渡御、民踊、阿波おどりや太鼓演奏など、様々な催しが行われ、21時頃のクライマックスには御輿や山車20基が大宮駅東口駅前に集結します。
