The Sanja Festival (Sanja festival) is one of the major example festivals that is held in Asakusa Shrine in Asakusa, Taito Ward, Tokyo, held every May.
The official name is “Asakusa Shrine festival big festival”.
The dedicated Denakura “Bizazahara Mai” is famous for being based on the old style.
It is said that a festival began based on the myths of the three companies from the first year of Masakazu (1312). On the eve of the Great Big Festival during the Edo era, a mikoshi was placed in the outer court of the Kannon main hall. Bizaraza Mai was also performed on the stage of the temple. As you can see from that, it was a festival that was united with Sensoji Temple at the time, called “Kannon Festival” or “Asakusa Festival”.
